Kovalenko Clinic was established in 2010 by Dr. Kovalenko Marina general practitioner, manual therapist, myofascial acupuncturist, craniosacral and craniovisceral therapist to give complex, diverse diagnosis and personalized treatments for those who are suffering from musculoskeletal disorders.
The unique Kovalenko-method® , an integrated (holistic) treatment, copyrighted in 2010, is applied in our spinal disorder center. It is used with patients who actively want to get rid of their complaints by finding the actual reasons of their problems and without taking pills. It is also useful for those who wish to lead a healthier life and are willing to follow the advice of professionals. In our clinic we have well-trained therapists to ensure that problems, caused by various reasons, would be tackled effectively by applying various methods. Customized therapy can only be reached this way.

What can I expect on the first visit?
Diagnosis in done by dr. Kovalenko Marina during the first consultation. Static and dinamic failures could be revealed by the manual spinal examination. We can diagnose problems of internal organs by monitoring spinal reflexes. We use thermography to detect inflammation and circulation disorders.
For the following treatments dr. Kovalenko would choose the medical attendant as well as the most effective methods depending on the patient’s condition. The chosen therapist would apply the treatments and could be asked for advice or help at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
What can I expect during the first treatment?
After the pre-relaxation we use myofasciorelaxing acupuncture, static correction and, if it is needed, craniosacral therapy. In chronic cases the patient might get temporary ligature insertion as well. A new appointment will be scheduled and the patient is given a handout describing some useful exercises that can be practiced at home.
After the first treatment muscle strain, muscle tension and temporary pain may be experienced. These are positive signs of the recovery and they go away in 2-3 days. If the pain gets back after 2-3 days, it means there might be an inflammatory area somewhere. In this case medical examination is required.
How often do I need to come for treatments?
1 or 2 weeks should pass between the treatments. The second treatment starts with the assessment of changes. After considering the responses we will continue the therapy. If necessary, an intensive therapeutic regime could be used as well, which means maximum 3 treatments per week.
The required number of the treatments can be between 3 and 10, depending on the seriousness of the disease. One treatment lasts 20-25 minutes.
Between the first and the second treatment there should be a 1 or 2 week long interval. Later this will be longer (3-4 weeks) between the treatments. In the meanwhile, exercises and detoxification should be done, if necessary.
Owing to this complex approach, we can prevent complaints for a long period. However, patients also have a responsibility for maintaining their health.

Patients with tumour
There are two concepts how traditional and myofasciorelaxing acupuncture affect a malignant tumour. According to one of them, the immune system and the circulation improve by direct stimulation, blocking the multiplication of tumourous cells and stimulating self-healing. The other concept says that the punctures can mechanically spread the tumourous cells and we can only treat the patient after chemo- and radiotherapies and with negative medical test results. The criteria for the acupuncture treatment is a minimum 1 year tumour-free condition confirmed by medical examinations.
We can get an approximate diagnosis in a few minutes by a non-invasive method. Thermovision is the only way to make the acidic areas of the body visible and analysable. It helps to distinguish joint pain caused by abrasion and joint pain caused by inflammation. When physical exertions repeatedly used on only one side of the body, overloaded parts can be seen alongside the spine. Detecting them directly can help to choose the right treatment. Easily recognizable conditions: maxillary sinus, inflammation, gingivitis arthritis, tendovaginitis, tennis elbow gallbladder and liver diseases nephritis and ureter inflammation abrasion of vertebral body, degenerative disc migraine back muscle cramp Diagnosis Each problem requires an individual solution: this is why we start the first appointment with a detailed discussion of the complaints and make a thermographic examination. In less serious cases, the treatment can be started immediately after the diagnosis.
