Lymph drainage technic
Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic massage treatment that uses mostly light pressure and gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase and improve lymphatic flow. Lymph is an essential part of our immune system and helps fight infection by flushing out and removing toxins and harmful substances from the body.
Lymph flows all round the body, carrying white blood cells and antibodies to the tissues and organs. Like the blood, lymph moves in a circulatory system but at a much slower rate and can become sluggish and congested, especially with illness.
Improving lymph flow and drainage around the body is good in many ways: It can help your body fight infection keeping your immune system healthy, speed up the recovery and healing after illness. It is used in the treatment of lymph oedema and/or localised swelling. It helps reduce water retention, improves skin texture by reducing swelling, puffiness and blotches and can speed up healing in scar tissue and help reduce stretch marks.
